Follow-Up Master Courses

(these courses are taught only in Czech)

Biophysics – this follow-up master education further widens and deepens the knowledge obtained during the bachelor programme, namely with the focus on quantum theory of molecules, molecular spectroscopy, molecular biophysics, molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics. The topics of master theses target experimental or theoretical aspects of physical processes in biological systems, or biological processes studied with the help of physical methods. The students can choose between a wide range of biological systems, including macromolecules (nucleic acids, proteins, lipids), cell-cultures (plant and animal) or whole organisms. The students with deeper interest in scientific work can continue in the Ph.D. programme Biophysics.

The study supervisor for the follow-up master programme in Biophysics is Doc. RNDr. Pavel Pospíšil, Ph.D.

Molecular biophysics – this follow-up master programme further deepens knowledge obtained during the bachelor programme, with the focus given on the up-to-date findings in structural and molecular biology and physiology. The students will in detail study the molecular processes in living systems, which will allow them to obtain wide view of physical, chemical a biological aspects of these processes. During many practical lectures the students will learn to effectively design their experiments and to use experimental and computational methods. The graduates have a qualification to work in multidisciplinary teams in biology, chemistry, medicine, criminology or pharmacology. The students with deeper interest in scientific work can continue in the Ph.D. programme Biophysics.

The study supervisor for the follow-up master programme in Molecular Biophysics is Doc. RNDr. Martin Kubala, Ph.D.
